We are delighted to announce our adjudicator returning for a second year for Petersfield Dance Festival 2018 is Kerry Newell, with such great feedback last year & the fantastic advice Kerry gave aswell as the odd surprise with the amazing ‘Tap-Off’ We are honoured to have Kerry adjudicate again bringing her knowledge and expertise of the current industry to pass on to our performers of the future.
Kerry Newell trained as professional Performer at Tring Park School of performing Arts and continued her training at Laine Theatre Arts where she studied all disciplines of dance and musical theatre.
Kerry has been fortunate to appear in West end productions of both “West Side Story”& ”Fame” understudying and playing the role of Carman Diaz and the ground breaking musical “The Lion King” were she understudy and played the role of Nala.
Kerry has appeared numerous commercials including Iceland, Littlewoods, LYNX, Mars Bar, Courts, Screwfix, and Help 2 buy, as well as Music Videos for Craig David & Artful Dodger, True steppers, Morcheeba to name but a few. She has also danced for the Australian Platinum Selling Artist, Vanessa Amorosi, which gave her the opportunity to perform on Top Of The Pops (UK & Germany) and various TV’s & Road Shows around the UK and Europe.
Kerry is best know for her role as one of the Five presenters for CITV’s “Fun Song Factory”, playing Cal the dancer, which led to presenting on Nickelodeon, GMTV’s “Wakey Wakey” and making a guest appearance on Toonattick. She was also asked to Voice Over for the GMTV Competitions whilst doing her own links for her “Wakey Wakey “ Show .
Kerry has been one of the main presenter for CBeebies Theatre and has just finished touring as Mr Tumbles (Justin Fletcher) co presenter in “Justin Party”. Kerry hosted the live “Barbie Dance Star awards” for Arlene Philips and played Liz 10 in the DR Who Live Arena Tour.
Kerry currently runs the FK Dance Academy in Hatfield and continues to perform in the UK and Dubai. Kerry has been fortunate to be able to pass on not just her knowledge, but her passion for Dance and teaching through various workshops at Dance Schools and Performing Arts Academy’s around the country, including the Italia Conti, Urdang, Stella Mann, Tring Park, YDA Swindon Dance and Pineapple, helping to shape the next generation of Performers.
